Good content, minor ad issue

I was reading up on some College Football News and Heavy had some well-written articles, especially the Mock Drafts. The content was insightful and updated regularly. My only small gripe was the number of ads; sometimes they were a bit distracting while I was trying to read. It's free news, so I get it, but a few less would make it perfect. Overall though, a reliable source for sports updates.

Decent for Fantasy Football

I was looking for Fantasy Football Rankings for my draft this year. Heavy had some good articles, free to read. Didn't have to pay for a subscription like some other sites, which was a big plus. Felt like I got good value, saved me some cash. I'd use it again next season.

Always check Heavy for MLB

I've been using Heavy for MLB News for a few seasons now. It's consistent. This time, I was checking out their Game Previews and Post-Game Analysis. Just like before, the content was reliable and updated quickly. I know I can count on them for the latest on my team, which is why I keep coming back. It's a good, solid source.

Caught up on some UFC stuff

I just wanted to see what was up with UFC News before the last fight night. Heavy had all the main articles right there on the homepage. Didn't have to dig around. Easy to read on my phone too, which is a big deal for me. Pretty chill experience, got what I came for without any fuss.

Solid site for NFL news

I used Heavy to keep up with NFL News, especially for the Heavy on Patriots section. The articles were usually updated pretty fast after games or big announcements. I also signed up for their newsletter; it came straight to my inbox with the top stories. The player statistics were easy to find and pretty detailed. Overall, a good experience for staying informed about my team. No real issues, everything loaded quick.

I'm thinking about signing up for their newsletter. Do they actually send useful stuff or is it just spamming my inbox with ads?

A Alex T. 2 weeks ago
The newsletter is pretty good actually. I get breaking news and sometimes links to their best articles of the day. Not too many ads in the actual email itself, from what I remember.

It's mostly headlines and links. If you're really into a specific sport they cover, it can be useful for keeping up without constantly checking the site. Not a ton of spam thankfully.

Are their fantasy football guides any good? Like, is there a free trial or something so I can check it out before buying?

J Jacob Jones 1 month ago
I think they sometimes offer a trial for their fantasy stuff, but you'd probably have to sign up for their newsletter or keep an eye on the site for a pop-up. Haven't seen a direct 'free trial' link always available.

Yeah, I remember seeing something about a trial for their betting tips or fantasy guides. I'd check the main page or maybe sign up for alerts, they usually promote that kinda thing directly.

Hey, wondering if Heavy is actually free or if I'm gonna hit a paywall after a few articles like some other sites? Just want to read some NFL stuff.

B Brian 1 month ago
Nah, it's free. I've been reading their NFL coverage for like two seasons now and never hit a paywall. They have ads, but it's not super annoying.

Yeah, it's free to read. They might try to get you to sign up for a newsletter or something, but the articles themselves are open access. Good for quick updates.

How often do they update their NFL news? Like, if something big happens, will it be on Heavy quickly or do I need to go elsewhere?

J John Jones 1 month ago
They're pretty quick, especially during the season or draft time. For breaking news like trades or injuries, I'd say they're usually among the first to report or at least cover it very fast.

Super fast, especially for NFL. They have a whole 'Heavy on Patriots' kind of section, so team-specific stuff gets updated constantly. I rely on them for quick updates, often before other sites I check.

Anyone know how Heavy compares to say, Bleacher Report or ESPN for NBA news? Like, is the analysis actually good or just clickbait?

E Eric Hill 1 month ago
Heavy's pretty decent, especially for specific team stuff like the Lakers or Celtics. I find their analysis more straightforward than some of the hot takes you get on Bleacher Report. ESPN's got more 'insider' stuff but Heavy's good for everyday news.

It's different. Heavy feels a bit more like a news aggregator sometimes, but they do have original content. For breaking news and stats, it's right up there. For deep dives, I still lean towards The Athletic or ESPN sometimes, but Heavy's a good free alternative.
